Classic Southern Cotswolds from Kemble Stn. 50 miles.

50 mile paved loop of the southern Cotswolds. Starting from Kemble Station this route goes via Malmesbury to Castle Combe and returns via Badminton and Tetbury. You will see the very best of the Cotswolds on this ride on quiet lanes. Obviously the towns are a bit busier but you quickly leave traffic behind when you get out into the glorious countryside. No killer climbs on this route as you stay away from the escarpment. You pass a number of pubs in villages along the way and there's loads of cafes in M'bury, CC and Tetbury, so take your pick. There's a shop/Postoffice and pub in Kemble where you start/finish. The Tavern Inn in Kemble also does shepherd Hut accom. if you need somewhere to stay.

You can extend this route down to Bath from Castle Combe, another 12 miles in each direction, but be warned the return climb out of Bath is a savage 1.5 miles @ 11%
