Crossing A19 at Elwick

I followed this route from Sedgefield to Hartlepool last week and found the junction with the A19 had recently been changed. You can no longer cross easily or safely as a crash barrier has been extended along the central reservation of the A19. There are no gaps. The only option is to lift your bike over the barrier, which can be difficult and unnerving with A road traffic speeding by.

If you can, it would be safer to stop plotting routes running from Coal Lane across the A19 to Elwick Road. Thanks.
