Exporting a route to Hammerhead 'on the fly'

I recently replaced my ageing Wahoo Elemnt Roam with the latest Hammerhead Karoo (3). Previously it was easy peasy to plan a route on cycle.travel, then click the 'save' icon then 'export gpx track'. The route would then be in the my files/downloads folder on my Android phone, I would select it and have the option to open it with the 'elemnt' app and it opened perfectly. Happy days.

I am struggling to find a way of replicating this with the Hammerhead. When I select the route in the files/downloads folder on my phone I only have the options to open it with cycle.travel, komoot or ridewithgps (I have deleted the elemnt app). I have had some success with opening the file with 'ridewithgps', saving the route to the ridewithgps library and then in the ridewithgps app route library go 'share' then 'share link' whereupon the Hammerhead icon appears and I can upload it to the Hammerhead app. However this in/out arrangement with ridewithgps is somewhat hit and miss. If I am out and about I have been giving up after waiting about 10 minutes for the route to find its way to the Karoo.

Sorry for the long winded explanation but is there a better way to load a cycle.travel route on to the Hammerhead Karoo please (i.e. without having to go in and out ridewithgps)?
