Arising from a thread in the feedback forum ("Can't plan a route using cycle routes" May/June 26), this demonstrates the use of via points to make CT follow Route 45.
Created to explore the handling of fords and associated footbridges, as per Feedback forum May 2026.
The default route seems to ride through the ford, ignoring the adjacent footbridges. The latter would seem the wiser choice except for brave/ mountain bike riders.
Feedback in case of value to you re the relatively recent Climbs feature:
On my ride today (https://cycle.travel/map/journey/926426) I found the operation of the Climbs feature rather flaky. The start of a climb was only announced and displayed for about half the climbs, with some announced and displayed only when already nearly at the top. Likewise, the top was not reliably handled. I beleive the phone did have a signal at the relevant locations; although I did not stop to confirm this, it did seem to be tracking progress on the map, and the climbs were in open country rather than in twisty hollows where blackspots might be expected.
(As this mostly meant I was further up the modest climbs than I thought, it was far from a disaster! But not really how its meant to work.)
(Android on Samsung Galaxy A55, latest app, latest Android. App configured to Dim between turns, and using offline maps.)

App feature suggestion: add a config to set "Always display climbs" ie, when on a climb, it stays on screen, overriding a "Dim between turns"setting. (And perhaps do this regardless of whether the profile of the route is being displayed?).
Many of us set "Dim between turns" to save battery, but I think it is worth sacrificing some battery to be able to see our progress up a climb, which - hopefully - will be motivating rather than discouraging ...
(See also separate thread with feedback about slightly flaky operation of the climbs feature.)
As ever, much appreciation for your magic.
Richard
For completeness, arising from the recent King Alfred's Way thread:
I don't think there is any coverage of the "Start here" feature in the Help text. Could usefully be added to the Advanced features / Route tools, where the other "More" sub-menu options are covered ie just needs another bullet.
